Welcome
We are the Church of England for the people of Hyde, Abbotts Barton and the city centre of Winchester, England.
From 20th October until 9th March, some refurbishment work will be under way in St Bartholomew’s Church, as Phase I of our exciting Giving for Living @ St Bart’s programme, designed to make the church greener and more accessible. Full details can be found here.
The church will continue to be open to visitors on Saturdays 10am-1pm, on Sundays for worship, and for other events such as the King Alfred Weekend (24th-26th October), the Christmas Gift Fair (29th November) and the full range of Christmas services. We regret that during this period there will be no level access to the Church, but help will be available on the steps if needed.
Making a Pilgrimage?
St Bartholomew’s Church is the official start point for the Winchester to Southampton leg of the Camino Ingles, part of the Camino Santiago de Compostela.
Whether you are starting here or passing through, we love to welcome pilgrims, but please note that the church is currently open only on Saturday mornings 10am-1pm. If you would like a pilgrim stamp outside these hours we will do our best to accommodate you, but please contact us via the form below, at least a week in advance of your visit.

You are welcome here! We gather to worship and pray at services in all three churches every week, and will be glad to talk if you are considering a baptism or wedding, or need to plan a funeral.
We hold various social events and all are welcome to our coffee mornings: 10am at St Lawrence on the first Friday of every month, and 10.30am at St Bartholomew on the 2nd Saturday in the month (please note the change from Tuesdays, due to refurbishment works in the church).

We look forward to welcoming you.
